Rating by tophatist on Jan 9th 2012:
This album is ace. Check out ‘Damn Blues’, ‘Red Rust’, ‘Crog’,'Battle of the Broken’ in particular.
I’ve seen them live and they’re amazing, energetic, furious and well…. sweaty. They jump around a lot, their show is always incredible. This album captures that but also has many shades of colour.
Gorgeous opening track ‘Dawn’ builds slowly and majestically and then kicks into the brutal rock of ‘Cope’ – and the album is off, taking you on a journey that includes songs about zombies (Battle of the Broken), a ballad (of sorts – The Craving Song), a kid’s story in the form of a rock song (The Happy Dingus Song), spanish guitars (In Revelation), a track I have kind of nicknamed the hurdy gurdy song (Out of Air) and a bonus acoustic track.
Played constantly in my house, don’t think I’ll ever be bored of it!
